Padma Bridge Paragraph 250 Words for Class 7
The Padma Bridge in Bangladesh is the biggest bridge ever built in our country. It opened this year in 2022 after many years of hard work. The super-long bridge crosses over the wide Padma River and links the southwest part of Bangladesh to the eastern side. Now people and vehicles can travel faster between the regions. The Padma Bridge in Bangladesh is the largest bridge ever constructed in our country. As 2022 drew to a close, around 91% of this challenging project was successfully finished. Then in a 2023 ceremony, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the completed Padma Bridge, marking a historic milestone for national growth. The amazing thing is the Padma Bridge is two levels! On the top level, vehicles drive on a big 4-lane highway. On the lower level, trains run smoothly on railroad tracks. Over 6 kilometers long, the bridge had to be built extra strong to handle the mighty Padma River’s powerful currents. The bridge connects the southwestern part of Bangladesh to the northern and eastern parts, which includes 21 districts. The bridge is in the districts of Shariatpur and Madaripur. The bridge has 42 pillars and 41 spans. The tall towers holding up the bridge are planted incredibly deep, over 120 meters under the water. The Padma Bridge was made possible entirely using money from Bangladesh. Building such a huge bridge was difficult but our smart engineers succeeded. We should be proud of this bridge that connects our country and shows what Bangladeshis can do. Padma Bridge Paragraph for SSC (Class: 9-10) – 300 Words
The Padma Bridge is a landmark 6.15 km long road and rail bridge over the Padma River in Bangladesh, connecting southwest Bangladesh to the northern and eastern regions of the country. Construction of the Padma Bridge has long been seen as an immensely challenging undertaking, given the vast width of the Padma River and the strong tidal bore currents that flow through the area. Plans for building a bridge over the Padma have been in consideration since the 1960s, but political instability, economic hurdles, and accusations of corruption repeatedly stalled the project for decades. The concrete construction of the Padma Bridge finally began in 2014 under the direction of the Awami League government and opened just recently in June 2022, the Padma Bridge stands as the longest bridge in Bangladesh and one of the most challenging bridge engineering projects ever undertaken. Spanning over 6 km between the Mawa point on the southwest bank and Janjira point on the northeast bank, the multi-purpose road and rail bridge cuts travel times between Dhaka and Bangladesh’s second largest seaport, Mongla, from 13 hours to just 3-4 hours. This connection is expected to bring immense economic gains for trade and transport to poorer southwestern districts. The scale of the Padma Bridge has been likened to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and even dubbed Bangladeshâs âpride and dreamâ. Padma Bridge Paragraph for HSC (Class-12) – 300 Words
Padma Bridge, which was built with support from the people and government of Bangladesh, is an important part of modern transportation systems. It was opened by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on June 25, 2022. This project is a bridge over the fast-moving Padma River in Bangladesh that can be used for many things. The biggest project in the country was built entirely by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and with money from within the country, not from outside sources. In 2007, it was thought that the Padma Bridge would cost 10,161 crore 75 lakh taka. It did cost about 30 thousand crores, though, because of changes to the plan, problems with managing the river, and other technical issues. Lauhjung of Munshiganj is on its eastern shore, and Shariatpur and Madaripur are on its western shore. There are 6,150 meters of length and 18,18 meters of width on this bridge. On December 7, 2014, only concrete and steel were used to start building this bridge. China Major Bridge Engineering Construction Company Limited built it. Twenty thousand people, including two thousand outsiders, are directly working on the different parts of the project. Since this bridge opened, 19 districts in the southwest have had direct access to the eastern part of the country, including Dhaka. Most of these districts will also have access to the train section when it opens. The economic growth of Bangladesh and the impact of the Padma Bridge on the living standards of billions of people are huge. Also, this bridge will be an important part of the economy and one of the world’s most interesting and historic sites. With the completion of the Padma Bridge, Bangladesh has moved into a new age. Padma Bridge will most importantly be a shining sign of the people of Bangladesh’s hope, faith, loyalty, and trust.

Padma Multipurpose Bridge
The Padma Bridge is a monumental multipurpose road-rail bridge constructed over the Padma River in Bangladesh, ranked among the most challenging infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the country. Officially inaugurated in June 2022 after years of construction, the trailblazing bridge connects the underdeveloped southwestern regions of Bangladesh with the northern and eastern areas, spanning over 6 kilometers between the cities of Louhajong, Munshiganj, Shariatpur, and Madaripur. Funded entirely by national resources, the two-level steel truss structure has an upper deck four-lane highway and a lower deck single-railway track. With 41 sections each measuring 150 meters long and 22 meters wide, the Padma Bridge became Bangladesh’s longest bridge, even surpassing prior bridges over the Ganges River. The pillars supporting the 6.15 kilometer long, 18.18 meter wide Padma Bridge extend deeper than any other bridge piles in the world, reaching down 120 meters to resist the fierce currents of the mighty Padma. Its construction overcome numerous obstacles including challenging river conditions, but the successful completion represents a hard-won engineering achievement for Bangladesh and a source of national pride. The bridge is predicted to facilitate major economic growth by increasing Bangladesh’s GDP by up to 1.2% thanks to enhanced regional connectivity, easier transportation, and stimulated commerce.
For the citizens of Bangladesh, the opening of the iconic Padma Bridge in 2022 after years of complicated construction symbolizes the nationâs resilience in overcoming adversity as well as its hopes and determination for greater development ahead. The bridge links the previously disconnected southwestern districts with the rest of the country, allowing easier access to trade, hospitals, education, and more for remote areas. With passenger trains, buses, trucks, and vans soon crossing the river more effortlessly, the bridge will better integrate the national economy and assist around 30 million people.
